Welcome

Welcome to the Catholic Youth SA Website

People travel all over the world searching and experiencing the best that God has created.  Like St Augustine, a great number of people have discovered that our hearts will never really find rest until they find it in God.  We are social and religious beings among many other things.  I believe that you have visited this site because you are acting out your God given gift and thirst to socialize and share your faith beliefs with the greater community.

Life has made certain demands in our lives and some of us have had to make fundamental changes in life.  I believe that people who visit this site have different expectations.  Some maybe searching for answers, while others may be looking for companionship with God and the Church.  We hope that this becomes your other ‘home’, where you can share your views and allow all of us to grow in the genuine love of God.

The words of Pope Benedict are so true and encompass the vision of this website,

“The Church welcomes young people and sees them as the sign of an ever promising springtime, and holds out Jesus to them as the model of love who ‘makes all things new’”.  This is what we believe to be our mission.  We as young people strive and long to evangelize each other in a manner that will ‘speak’ to us and lead us deeply into a relationship with God.

“The proclamation of Christ in the world of new technologies requires a profound knowledge of this world if the technologies are to serve our mission adequately. It falls, in particular, to young people, who have an almost spontaneous affinity for the new means of communication, to take on the responsibility for the evangelization of this “digital continent”. Be sure to announce the Gospel to your contemporaries with enthusiasm. You know their fears and their hopes, their aspirations and their disappointments: the greatest gift you can give to them is to share with them the “Good News” of a God who became man, who suffered, died and rose again to save all people. Human hearts are yearning for a world where love endures, where gifts are shared, where unity is built, where freedom finds meaning in truth, and where identity is found in respectful communion. Our faith can respond to these expectations: may you become its heralds! The Pope accompanies you with his prayers and his blessing.” – This message came from Pope Benedict XVI on the occasion of he 43rd World Communication Day in 2009. It shows the openness of the Church to using new Media. I so hope that we too can reach as many people as possible so that the Word of God may be preached to the ends of the world. We remain faithful to the ministry of Christ using all the tools available to us. Like St Paul we are to go where the people are at and start talking their language and introduce them to Jesus Christ.

I wish you God’s richest blessings
